Luigi’s Restaurant opened in 1991, the second family restaurant opened by chef and owner Luigi in Ilford, Essex. Bringing together his love for food and company, this italian establishment as been part of the community for over 25 years.
Luigi was born and raised in Napoli, southern Italy. The recipies Luigi's uses today are the same recipes that have been passed down through the generations mostly from his mother.
Luigi opened his first restaurant over 30 years ago, in 1978. His first restaurant was "Rosella", which was based in Seven Kings. In 1991 Luigi opened "Luigi's" in Gants Hill, Ilford. The traditional Italian restaurant, has kept to Luigi's ideals of home made traditional Italian cooking.
Some of this success can be attributed ot the fact that Luigi's always strives for the best ingredients for their food. That's why Luigi's grow their own herbs and vegetables, but also why they import some of their produce from Italy, from Luigi's mothers and fathers farm.

“ Visited Luigis for dinner for a 60th birthday celebration. We have been numerous times before for the Sunday lunch which is always fantastic so we thought we would try the al a carte menu on a Saturday evening. The starters of calamari, mushrooms & ribs were really delicious and the portions were huge. For mains 5 of us had steak and they were also huge and cooked to perfection. We took a birthday cake with us which the staff were happy to bring out and serve for dessert. All in all a great visit with really good fresh food & great service.”

“I have known Luigis’s since the 80’s and he catered my wedding reception back then. Only recently realised he was still there and visited with my adult children. The Food is still as good as it always was and a bonus to catch up with Luigi on the night we visited. Food freshly prepared and delicious and Enzo looked after us well. Decor hasn’t changed but that only adds to the authenticity of the place. Went back for the Sunday roast and thoroughly enjoyed it and there were still Italian options available so everyone was happy. One of the few true Italian’s left. Long may he continue”
